Sometimes the best way to experience history, is to put yourself into the same environment where an historical event occurred.
In Bucks County, there’s no place better to and winter is the most authentic time of the year. Here, you can brave the elements, walking through ice, snow and cold, just as George Washington and his troops did in 1776. It was at this location that General Washington devised a plan to cross the Delaware River under cover of darkness to attack the Hessian army in Trenton. His troops were successful, and the event was a turning point in the American Revolution. Explore this park’s 500 acres of natural beauty and history, including the village, Bowman’s Hill Tower, the Thompson-Neely House and the memorial cemetery. On February 18, you can even celebrate George Washington’s 286th birthday!
